About Me
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and earned my undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and my Master's degree from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Clinical Psychology with a Specialization in Counseling.
I have more than 17 years of experience treating adults and emerging adults with a variety of concerns; including life transitions, depression, anxiety, stress management, identity and relationship issues, grief and loss, as well as eating disorders.
I set out into my career as a therapist with an aspiration of gaining a diverse and broad variety of treatment experiences.
I have worked in a variety of settings with a wide range of presenting problems. While completing my undergraduate program, I provided in-home and in-school therapies for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related conditions. I went on to complete my Masters Degree Practicum treating adults in individual and group therapy at a City of Chicago Mental Health Center. I spent three years working in a nonprofit agency serving the Chicagoland homeless populations with severe mental illness. I also have worked at multiple treatment centers that focus on eating, mood and anxiety disorders in higher levels of care including intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization and residential treatment. While clinically managing and treating clients in an intensive outpatient program I embarked on writing policies and procedures to support the organization in obtaining Joint Commission Accreditation followed by numerous other treatment licenses. This led to 10 years at Eating Recovery Center as the Quality and Compliance Manager and Director. During my tenure in this role I provided clinical and regulatory training, consultation, and implementation of best practices across the company for the Midwest and eastern regions of the US, consisting of thirteen treatment centers.
As an advocate for mental health, I had the honor of serving an 18 month term as the Executive Board Secretary of the EPIC Foundation, a nonprofit foundation with a mission to empower, support, advocate and educate patients and their caregivers with invisible chronic illnesses.
Throughout all of my experiences, I have never lost sight of the fact that the most fulfilling and meaningful work I do, is done in the therapy process with my clients.
I have consistently maintained an individual therapy caseload, and in 2017, I started my own private practice in downtown Chicago and grew to a second location in the western suburbs where I now practice and offer Telehealth therapy.
